“ELLWOOD CITY — A Mercer County Mentoring program at Lincoln High School is so successful that not only are grades improving, but the students don’t want to leave when the class is over.

Steve Landman, executive director of the after school program for mentoring and tutoring, said the group that has been meeting twice a week since October and it has made a difference in students’ lives.

The most important development is that the students and their mentors have taken ownership of the program — it is their group and they are excited to be a part of it.”
